Orkut‘s feature of mass messaging to friend groups has become a hotspot of spam mails. It’s even more annoying when I get hoax forwards like this:
“HEY ITS DIANNA, FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ORKUT, EVERYBODY SORRY FOR THE INTERRUPTION BUT ORKUT IS CLOSING THE SYSTEM DOWN BECAUSE TOO MANY BOTTERS ARE TAKING UP ALL THE NAMES, WE ONLY HAVE 57 NAMES LEFT, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT, DONT SEND THIS MESSAGE, IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR ACCOUNT ,SEND THIS MESSAGE TO EVERYONE ON YOUR LIST. THIS IS NOT A JOKE, YOU’LL BE SORRY IF YOU DONT SEND IT. THANKS DIRECTOR OF ORKUT, TIM BUISKI. WHOEVER DOESNT SEND THIS MESSAGE, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DEACTIVATED AND IT WILL COST YOU $ 10.00 A MONTH TO USE IT”
This is for the sixth or seventh time in two days that I’ve been receiving this screaming-in-bold letter Orkut spam and still counting. I simply don’t understand why people keep on forwarding such hoax mails without even considering whether it makes any sense or not. It’s like they are not in peace until and unless their “job” of forwarding such mails is done. How can be they so gullible? 
Even well-educated people believe and spread such mails. There are even some people who rarely send a proper email but only such chain mails. Thanks to them, such hoaxes and chain mails are thriving on the Internet.
Hmmm…what can be done to stop this?

Funny part is same message we get from Orkut (which is a Google service) and Yahoo! as well as MSN!!
It’s exactly that, a Joke. You won’t be sorry for not sending it, you’ll be sorry for sending it because all you will do is annoy your friends! Ignore all e-mails like this, there are too many variants to state here, but they are all hoaxes.
Seems like this Tim Buiski (a complete fictional character!) is really a busy man – heading Google, Yahoo! and MSN at the same time!
Another irritating one!
Somebody adding you to their list, or you adding them is not enough for them to harm you. You’d have to download from them, and you should NEVER do this unless you know the other user, and have communicated the file transfer with them in advance.
Pity when I get these things from even people who are studying computer science!!! Duh!

hey this is really annoying.. i received more than 5 of these crap scraps.. i had to delete all of em.. cant believe ppl wud be so stupid enough to believe it……>: (
guys here’s some interestin facts :-
in d message have u noticed that director of orkut suddenly changes her SEX, i.e, from female she becomes a male (DIANNA- director of orkut,,,,,,,,,,ends with “TIM BUISKI-director of orkut”)
as per the internet traffic laws , d website who is charging have to give some notification regardin charges , they just can’t charge anyone + more the no of account more ‘ll be profit for the website
that’s because the amount of time we take to surf it’s all bein controlled n managed by internet traffic server, so wht so ever money the website receive is from those people and not directly you
after all these valid reason if you still forward such bugging message then you should be charged not $ 10.00 a month but $ 100.00 a week for your foolishness
